Shopify Apps – Privacy Policy

1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all Shopify applications (“Apps”) developed and published by AV Focus Software Solutions Pvt Ltd. (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By installing or using any of our Apps, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

We are committed to protecting merchant data, minimizing collection, and complying with applicable privacy laws.

2. Data We Access From Shopify

Our Apps access only the data required to operate properly. Depending on the App, this may include:

  • Store information (store name, domain, email, Shopify store ID)
  • Product information (title, description, images, tags, status, inventory, variants, metafields)
  • Collection information (titles, sorting rules, metafields)
  • App settings and configuration data
  • Theme or storefront access when required for app functionality

We do not access customer personal data unless an App specifically requires it, and when it does, it is disclosed clearly inside that App.

We do not access or store payment card information.

3. How We Use the Data

Data accessed through Shopify is used exclusively to:

  • Provide core App functionality
  • Manage product or storefront content as requested by the merchant
  • Process App configuration settings
  • Improve App performance and support
  • Generate or modify store data upon merchant request (e.g., merchandising, SEO automation, or catalog optimization)

We never sell or rent data.
We do not use merchant data for advertising or marketing.

4. Optional Third-Party Services

Some Apps may allow merchants to connect external services (e.g., AI generation, analytics, translation providers).

When a merchant chooses to integrate with a third party:

The merchant is responsible for reviewing third-party privacy terms

Any API keys are provided and controlled by the merchant

Keys remain in merchant-controlled configuration fields

We do not use third-party keys outside the purpose chosen by the merchant

6. Data Sharing

do not share data with third parties except:

  • Services explicitly activated by the merchant (e.g., AI or translation APIs)
  • Sub-processors required to host or secure the App environment (e.g., hosting providers)

We do not sell or trade merchant information.

7. Data Retention & Deletion (Shopify Uninstall)

When a merchant uninstalls an App:

  • Shopify automatically sends an uninstall webhook
  • We remove configuration and store-specific records within 48–72 hours
  • Merchants may request earlier removal at any time

8. Access to Customer Personal Data

Unless an App explicitly requires customer information (for example, order customization or customer segmentation apps):

  • We do not collect customer names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, or payment data

If any App requires Customer PII for operation, it will be clearly stated in the App interface and documentation.

9. Legal Basis (GDPR, CCPA & Global)

We comply with applicable privacy regulations:

  • Maintaining confidentiality of optional API keys (e.g., AI services)
  • Ensuring store-level legal compliance for product content changes

12. Children

Our Apps are not intended for children under 16 and do not knowingly collect children’s data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically.
Continued use of any App implies acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
